YouTube is great, but you must be willing to make a video a day. Also make sure you utilize the annotation feature where you are able to place the name of your website on the screen and get write specific notes that direct your visitors to take action. It's all about consistency.

Alex, your best bet for organic traffic, specially for your site, is to develop or have an expert develop written ad copy for print media and place ads in magazines for your type of website and also direct mail pieces to a list of people who usually buy from auction sites.

| Quoted from: member_140119 on 2013-04-16 00:15:37 Cost per view is great. You pay a small amount and you get a lot of "targeted" visitors. But make sure you have something a lot of people want at a reasonable price. |
Cost Per View (Pay Per View) advertising is not targeted as one would think it is. Whether you use Google or any other company, the visitors are "targeted" by "keywords". On first glance, it would seem that anyone finding your site by the keyword you are using, would be a "targeted" visitor - not true. Often times the person don't have any idea what keyword to use to find what they are actually looking for. Other times, the keyword may be correct, but not the "key phrase". For example, someone may use the word "income" but is not looking for ways to generate income - but they are taken to an "Income Opportunity" site, instead of a site about "Income Statements" and "Finance". However, if you had a magazine or a website that was about "cloth dolls", then you can only get true targeted visitor (people who are interested in any and all aspects of cloth dolls), by advertising in media that cater to people who hold an interest in cloth dolls. If your website is only trying to sell cloth dolls but have no history of cloth dolls and a child look up you site on the internet to do a school report on cloth dolls' history - that person is not a true "targeted visitor". Targeted traffic is visitors that are looking for what you actually have on your website.

| Quoted from: member_392033 on 2013-05-16 09:31:52 Does anyone know anything about Ezines and how effective they are for advertising? this all new to me. |
Ezine stands for "electronic magazine". But it is also used to represent online or email newsletters. Readers subscribe to ezines due to interest about something very specific. Like magazines, ezines cater to a group of special clients. You can search the Internet for an ezine that discusses, for example, business or specifically talks about a section of business or a specific business. The quality of the content plays a big role in the success of any ezine. A very successful ezine may also carry ads or accept articles from other authors. If you can place an ad or article in a very successful ezine, say, one with several hundred thousand readers - you have instant exposure for your ad to those members who are already interested in the subject you advertise. Be sure to advertise in the correct ezine - don't try to advertise cooking pans in an ezine about underwear. I have placed classified ads in ezines in the past but right now I only have articles in EzineArticles.com. I haven't placed a classified ad in years - but after this post I may test that market again, I use to do very well with classified ads in the early days of "mailorder".
